Hi i was just wanting to ask you some questions about the fan flex app you did for comcast… im looking at doing drag drop around a circular path and was wondering how hard it was to implement in flex… very similar to the way you had add to playlist and then it adds it to the circular path allowing reordering…
would you have any hints or reading materials i could get in to to look at how best to approach the situation…

    thanks,
    - tom

Hi, i wanted to ask you if you shared the source of the flexamp, i saw in googlecode a page for the flexamp but the svn was empty.

Sorry Charles, that must be someone else’s project since I didnt start the repository. The code for FlexAmp unfortunately is in pretty messed up state since I havent looked at it for over a year and it was never in any versioning system (it was more like a weekend project).

I have been meaning to clean it up and release at least some of the code for use by the Flex community but havent done that yet.

    Hi Arpit
I’m new to flash and your blog. A friend of mine recommended your blog. Video streaming always interested me and wanted to do my own pet project. I did implement a http progressive solution. Seek was frustraing with http. I did some search and found that having multiple segments of the video and a bit of action script code will work around the seek issue. I did and seek works now. But, when the player switches from one segment to the next, there is a momentary pause (fraction of a second, I guess). Have you been through this issue? Please share your experience or thoughts on this issue.
    Thanks.

    Saravanan.

I was a computer Programmer/Analyst from 1980-1991. I’ve been “a heavy user” since then. I feel like a dinosaur not knowing what that the noun ‘fork’ is now also a powerful verb and an adjective! I’m guessing these neologisms were preceded by “Stick a fork in me, I’m done!” But after discovering GitHub today (and understanding only the tip of that iceberg!), I also get the impression that “fork projects” are like a group of friends ordering takeout (e.g., lots of small containers of Chinese food) and then everyone eating some of each container using their own fork. Sounds like the ultimate communion! Thank God I’m seeing this in my lifetime (I’m 59.) If there’s more to forking, please enlighten me further, via email to EurekaBizB@gmail.com . Thanks and Blessings!

My name is Catherine Etter. You and I have never spoken before but I wanted to reach out to you. I am working on a project now that requires a very specific skill set and you looked like a great person to connect with. I don’t know whether you would consider any new opportunities but even if you are not keeping your own options open, I would love to take a few minutes to network if you have the time.

Any help that you could offer would be great!

    Best,
    Catherine
